San Diego Chargers Fans In The Dark
September 29, 2010 on 5:32 pm | In In and around San Diego | No Comments This past weekend the Chargers played Jacksonville Jaguars and won 38-13. Local San Diegoians where upset that they could not watch the game. This is the first time this has happen since November 7, 2004. With the way the economy is locals don’t have enough money to pay top dollar to see the game in person. With the average ticket price close to $100, its hard for a couple to spend this kind of money when so many people are out of a job. The game was blacked out because the team was short 7000 tickets sold. Many residents ask why not the Charger players buy the tickets?
Regular working people are sick of paying ridiculous prices to watch whining, overpaid millionaires play a game. Getting out of bed to see the games has always been a ritual for many. Not only is this a hardship on the community but this makes a major impact on local business’s who need the business. With less patrons coming in to watch the game there is less business. Has San Diego had enough of the Chargers? LA who has an open door to the Chargers and wants them. Most Locals want the Chargers to stay!
The next home game is on the same track to become a blackout as well. Now many locals will have to stay home and spend the day at home without the game. This give locals a chance to shop for a mattress or other high ticket items for the home. Mattress Man suggests getting a new mattress from Stearns & Foster to help solves the blues of not watching the game. Or if your inclined to still watch the game you can have a friend 75 miles away Skype the game for you and watch it on the computer.
A benefit for San Diego locals is they don’t have to stay up late on Monday night to watch Monday Night Football. The folks on the east coast need a good memory foam mattress to keep them comfortable as they are watching the game wind down at Midnight.
