Keep in mind if you are looking for a mattress replacement or your
back hurts from your current mattress then dispose of your old one. If
the mattress is not good enough for you then it wont be good enough
for anyone else. There are several ways to part ways with an unwanted
mattress.
1) Purchase a new mattress and ask them to dispose of the old one
when they deliver the new mattress set. Many local retailers provide this
service as part of your delivery fee.
2) Call your local dump, sanitation department or garbage collector.
Most times they wont pick up but you can drop it off for a small fee.
Sometimes they offer large pickup appliances and mattress’s
throughout the year.
Some mattress’s make it back from the dead by some retailers who are
licensed to sell second hand mattress’s. When I mention some retailers
I mean a very select few. If you know the details of these rebuilts it
would make you sick. These used mattress’s are to go through a
spraying process to rid them of bugs and such growing pests. A new
cheap cover is then placed over top of the old stained mattress and its
a good as new or rebuilt. Take the new chap cover and see all the
stains and wounder why you didnt pay a little extra to get a new
mattress. Remember earlier I mentioned if the bed is not good enough
for you.. Well the rebuilts are now rebuilt with existing good pieces but
in fact just re-wrapped up with a new cheap cover.
