Short Day Trips from San Diego

Looking to spend some time away from home.  Yes we live in the finest city in America, San Diego.  We have been to all the tourist attractions available to man in San Diego.  You just want to get away and some some “my time” away.  There are many short drives you can make from San Diego.  You can take a drive to Julian. 

While your there be sure to get the famous Julian Pie.

See where gold was discovered.  Sleep in a romantic B&B or a historical hotel.  Shop in stores housed as historical buildings.  Ride down Main Street in a horse drawn carriage.

Visit Temecula wine country.  Many wine wineries and champion golf courses are located here.  Temecula is a newer growing city outside San Diego.  Many residents flocked here in Temecula in search of cheaper housing.  In fact many residents of Temecula commute to San Diego daily for employment.

If its not summer time you may find the desert of interest.  There are many places to see in the desert from the Glamis Dunes to the Anza Borego Desert State Park.

If you prefer to a shorter drive why not visit Cuyamaca State Park.  You can go fishing on the lake or go hiking in the mountains.  If you want you can also pitch a tent for the night.
